{"id":1827,"date":"2011-03-10T00:41:51","date_gmt":"2011-03-10T00:41:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.news.clicdublin.ie\/?p=1827"},"modified":"2023-04-12T12:59:43","modified_gmt":"2023-04-12T11:59:43","slug":"enda-kenny-officially-taoiseach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpressdemo.eu\/?p=1827","title":{"rendered":"Enda Kenny officially Taoiseach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Enda Kenny has been elected the 13th Taoiseach of Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Kenny received a round of applause and was congratulated from members of the packed D\u00e1il and guests.<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e1il colleagues including Fianna F\u00e1il leader Miche\u00e1l Martin, who also paid special tribute to Mr Kenny&#8217;s wife Fionnuala.<\/p>\n<p>Standing to speak for the first time as Taoiseach, Mr Kenny thanked the deputies for his nomination.<\/p>\n<p>Making his acceptance speech Mr Kenny said: &#8220;The people and their Government are one again.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In this current crisis, still full of unknowns, honest is not just the best policy &#8211; it is our only policy,&#8221; Mr Kenny added.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Kenny travelled to Aras an Uachtar\u00e1in with his cabinet politicians,in a minibus,\u00a0to receive their seals of office from President Mary McAleese.<\/p>\n<p>Frances Fitzgerald is the new\u00a0Minister for Children and Ruairi Quinn\u00a0is the new\u00a0minister for Education and Skills.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1828\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1828\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clicnews.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/EndaKennyDail31Mar82011PA.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1828 \" src=\"http:\/\/www.clicnews.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/EndaKennyDail31Mar82011PA.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1828\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Enda Kenny on his day of election<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Enda Kenny has been elected the 13th Taoiseach of Ireland.
